Overview

With this collection of paintings, I aimed to combine vibrant colors, graffiti, and cubism in a new way. 

Process

For each painting in this series, I began by blocking out different fields of color, letting my mind go blank when determining the composition. Then, I engaged in rapid gesture making over the colors, followed by cubist forms in some of the pieces.

Inspiration

I find that I experience waves of inspiration from different artists during different times. For this series, I was really inspired by a lot of Jean-Michel Basquiat's work.
